Wedding in Dublin City - The Experience

Dublin is a very romantic city, so it's no wonder that so many couples choose it as their wedding destination. With its ancient buildings and cobblestone streets, there is no better place to fall in love. The city is full of romantic locations and activities including strolls along the River Liffey, a romantic dinner at one of the city's many Michelin-starred restaurants, or a trip to the prestigious Guinness Storehouse.

One of Dublin's most romantic spots is the Stephen Green Park well located near the famous Grafton Street. Many streets in Dublin city center are entirely lined with strings of fairy lights, making them the perfect backdrop for wedding photos. The city also offers some of the best wedding venues in Ireland. These luxurious manor houses have been catering to couples for decades, providing them with an unforgettable experience for their big day.

ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES

I was privileged to capture the beauty of Katie and John's wedding. They chose the Shelbourne Hotel to bring their families together to celebrate Love. This couple is something else, right from the start we could feel love, kindness, romance and happiness throughout. After an emotional ceremony by Kath's brother, we went for a walk around the area. We start in one of the most romantic spots in Dublin, Stephen Green Park with lots of greenery and beautiful surroundings, full of life and amazing people more than happy to stop for a second so you can take the perfect photo on the bridge or inside the enchanted gazebo with a view to the pond.

Not far from there we went down the lively Dawson Street, an interesting course with many pubs and and nice spots for quick shots with the famous church with the red door, already in front of it, the Anne's street where we stoped by for a amazing pint in one of Dublin's gem, the Kehoes' Pub, first opened in 1803, the Kehoes' pub is one of the last great heritage pubs of Dublin.

I might say that the famous Umbrella Street, a charming little street decorated with umbrellas along the way, is just around the corner. As such, if you see me lying down on the ground with my camera, I am undoubtedly taking the stunning shot shown below.

Another option is to enter Trinity College Dublin, whose numerous buildings provide for lovely photo shoot locations on overcast days. From there, you could stroll into Temple Bar for a fine pint before wrapping up your session at the Ha'penny Bridge with the River Liffey as a lovely backdrop.

As a wedding photographer, I show all possibilities to my clients and work with them the best route for our shooting around the city after the wedding ceremony, so we are align and I can make sure that all special spots will be covered and you and your loved one have a good time.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE GETTING MARRIED IN DUBLIN

* Be Prepare!! The weather in Dublin is one of a kind. Despite experiencing all four seasons in one day, it will never be hot enough. Therefore, if it rains or blows during your special day, it's okay.

* Ask your guests to arrive 30 minutes before the ceremony, as some locations will close the door and forbid any latecomers from entering the ceremony chamber once it has begun.

* Plan out your timeline in advance with your photographer. Ask them to make something simple and straightforward so you won't experience any surprises or forget to take any crucial pictures on your special day.

*Have a nice breakfast, it will be a big day, you need to be full of energy and happiness, and I haven't met a hungry and happy bride or groom (haha)

*Tell your plans to your guests, they are there for you, if you are going to disappear for portrait photos for half a hour, let them know that you will be back soon, they will appreciate it.
*Most importantly: ENJOY IT! Enjoy every grin, laugh, embrace, and kiss on your wedding day since it's one of the most memorable days of your life and it passes very quickly. You will be surrounded by affection and happiness, and you should savor every second of it.
