Different Types of Vows to Inspire You

Choose the style that you most identify with or combine the many different styles to create a text that is your own. But remember that these texts should generally be short and simple. If you feel that the words and feelings are flowing and that you have much more to say to the person you love, write a letter and deliver it the morning of your big day. It is a romantic gesture that no one will remain indifferent to!

ROMANTIC VOWS: THE DECLARATION OF LOVE

They are simple vows that speak of the love that the other person inspires in you. These are phrases that focus on the feeling that unites you with the other person. Examples:

* I love you and I will always love you.
* You are the person I chose for life.
* You are the answer to all my dreams.
* You are my soulmate.
* I am in love with you. Yesterday, today and forever.

THE 'HOMAGE': EMOTIONAL WEDDING VOWS

They are vows about the person you chose to marry. In this text style, the general idea is to talk about the things you most admire in your better half. Examples:

* You are sweet and affectionate. You light up all my days.
* Nobody makes me laugh like you.
* You are unique, sincere and generous. You make me feel safe and wanted.
* I love who you are. I'm proud to have you by my side.

THE HOPE

 They are vows that speak of a future. These phrases express the hope of happiness to come. Examples of what to write in wedding vows:

* I want to grow old happily by your side.

* Let's create a beautiful family.
* We will be companions in all the many adventures to come.
* We will always be lovers, best friends.
* We will be eternal.

THE PROMISE

They are vows in which you make a commitment to another person. They are the vows most similar to those we usually hear in a Catholic religious ceremony. There are even churches that allow the bride and groom to replace the traditional wedding vows with personalised vows for the religious ceremony, written from the heart and full of feelings (in any case, you should always ask the priest if this is possible, including whether you will have to keep mandatory words and if there are others that cannot be used)

* I promise to love you.
* I promise to be faithful to you.
* I promise to make you and us my priority.

* I promise to honour and respect you.

If you are getting married in church, here is an example of wedding vows using the phrases above, which you can of course adapt. By the way, it should! Marriage wishes should reflect real, genuine feelings, and copying from the Internet is not advised at all. Express yourself with soul, think about your story!

“Today we are going to become man and wife. You were a gift from God and now that we are going to walk through life together, my days will be filled with joy by your side. Before God and all our loved ones who share this day with us today, I promise to love you, to be your friend, confidant and companion, sharing hopes and dreams with you and making you and us my priority. I promise to be faithful to you, honour you, respect you and support you in difficult times, in joy and sadness, in health and in sickness, for the rest of my life.”
